Searching for the Best Cafes

The Wild Fig Scarborough

I’m on a mission to discover the best cafes in Australia. This time, I’m in beautiful Western Australia, visiting fabulous cafes at Scarborough.

After a really hard couple of years. Cafes are doing it tough. You can walk through any town in Australia and see cafes who’ve had to close their doors.

I want to help in any way I can. I’ve decided to dedicate my blog, to finding the best Cafes in Australia and shine a light on them. It’s time to get out and support these wonderful cafes.  I’ve already uncovered fabulous cafes in Fremantle, amazing cafes in Perth and brilliant cafes in North Sydney. Now, I’m in picturesque Scarborough.

There is nothing worse than getting a bad brekky or a cold coffee. So, I’ve done the hard yards. I’ve visited cafes all over Scarborough. From the lively spots to the more hidden gems. After so many lattes, bacon and egg rolls and avo on toasts, I’ve narrowed it down to the five best cafes at Scarborough.

I’m so excited to share. Let’s get going.

Cafes in Scarborough

Located at 190 the Esplanade Scarborough. The Wild Fig is known for serving responsibly sourced produce. It is a trendy, airy café with lounge seating and a relaxed feel. In a prime position right on the beach, the Wild Fig has panoramic views of the beautiful blue Indian Ocean. It's one of my favourite Scarborough cafes.

The kitchen at Wild Fig, serves so many amazing dishes. On the all-day breakfast menu there are classics like Eggs Benny, Mushroom on Toast and an Acai Granola Bowl. If you are feeling hungry, order the Big Fig Breakfast. It comes loaded with a fennel sausage, eggs, free range smoked bacon, thick cut sourdough toast, hash brown, roast mushroom and spicy baked beans.

On the lunch menu the Pesto Arancini with spiced mayonnaise, pecorino or vegan cheese is a delicious entrée. There is also Crispy Pork Belly Beats and Salt and Pepper Squid. For mains there is a Vegan Chickpea Curry served with saffron rice, raita and papadum. There is also a Chicken Salad which is fabulous. It comes loaded with marinated chicken, slaw, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion and diced capsicum served with crispy noodles and toasted pistachios.

The Coffee here is next level amazing. Its such a great spot to sit-and-sip and take in the breath-taking view.

There is also a selection of teas, freshly squeezed juices, shakes and smoothies. I had the Breakfast Smoothie with blueberries, oats, almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon and lavender. It was fabulous.

Latte Lady Scarborough

Located at 41 Edgehill Street Scarborough. Lady Latte is known all over town for its mouth-watering gourmet jaffles and great coffee. Tucked away in the hilly streets of suburban Scarborough, this funky little café has great décor and such a welcoming atmosphere. During the week, the café is full of young mums with prams in active wear, tradies and passers-by. On the weekend, the café explodes with local families looking for a delicious breakfast and quality coffee.

Lady Latte has created an absolutely mouth-watering menu that’s made using only the best locally sourced ingredients. There is a delicious Smashed Avo with cherry tomatoes and Danish feta, served with fresh lemon, rocket, jalapeños and balsamic on 2 pieces of fresh ciabatta. The Bircher Muesli and the Breakfast Burrito are also fabulous.

But you can’t go to Lady Latte and not sample their gourmet jaffles. They have the best names ever. Expect to be greeted by names like Mr Bean, Bollywood, Porky’s and the Jalapeno Popper. The Italian Job is so yummy. It comes loaded with grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes, red onion, aioli, feta cheese, mozzarella, parmesan and cheddar. The Ocean 11 is also delicious.
